El Poblenou
Once "the Catalan Manchester", Poblenou was the city's industrial heartland. Today its old factories house design studios, tech companies (the 22@ district), galleries and loft flats. It has a relaxed, almost village-like feel along the Rambla del Poblenou, and the city's best beaches — Bogatell and Mar Bella — are minutes away.

Stroll the Rambla del Poblenou for ice cream and terraces, visit the Poblenou Cemetery's sculptures, and spend the afternoon at Bogatell beach. The Design Museum and Torre Glòries are nearby.
A favourite with internationals and families: beach access, more space, newer flats and a strong community feel, with good metro links to the centre.
A tree-lined, local alternative to La Rambla.
Spacious, local and great for volleyball.
Contemporary Catalan art in a converted factory.
The bullet-shaped landmark, with a viewpoint.
